A powder formula suggested for feeding spooky, worried and anguished horses that can become rigid with fear, freezing up with tension, may not bolt but can with a series of stressful events just explode – bucking, rearing or taking off. Even in relatively low-stress situations muscles are not truly relaxed if nervous underneath. Evenkeel 1 helps to relax muscular tension and uncharacteristic behaviour and unfounded anxiousness. Formulated to help maintain composure and combat changes in temperament due to stress. Feed at two to three spoons per day feeding more will not harm. Typically freezes up with his tension, rather than bolting, if he encounters a series of stressful events, he may just explode – bucking, rearing or taking off, especially if the horse feels that it is he or she alone that must do something as opposed to transferring responsibility someone in control.
Do NOT feed Evenkeel 1 when competing under FEI rules.

So far, so good. My mare has been on this for a week and the difference is there to see. Her concentration is extended and she is able to engage and work because she isn’t worried about having to ‘run away’. It is still early days however, we are moving in the right direction.

My spooky mare is now far less spooky – was always looking for monsters now just reacts when there really is one (she is a horse afterall)! On the advice of the team at trinity I only ordered a small quantity to begin with but have just ordered some more. Fingers crossed it continues to work… if not I feel sure the team at Trinity will have some good suggestions to try next – thank you for your help.

I have tried everything over the years to make a difference and have finally found it! I have been using this for nearly a year now and would not want to be without it. I have a completely different horse, much calmer and far less spooky. I am now just giving him one spoon a day but if I know that there is something coming up which might be challenging I up it for a few days before. When I first started I added the Evenkeel extra in as well but rarely need that these days although I keep some in the cupboard just in case. Thank you for your help and advice!

I have sometimes used this product before to help settle down my horse during times when he is a bit anxious or stressed. Over the last 6 months my horse has been on box rest with a short in hand walk and I can hand graze him in a small pen if weather conditions are ok. During this time I have had him on Evenkeel which has been so useful in keeping him calm, occasionally I have on the advice of my vet given him a double dose for a few weeks (he is a 17hh warmblood). I don’t know what I would have done without this product.
